Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Los Alamos County will host a virtual town hall with three helicopter operators on April 15, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. Classic Air Medical (Intermountain Health), TriState CareFlight, and Lifeguard Air Emergency Services provide medical air ambulance services to and from Los Alamos Medical Center. This town hall is an opportunity for an open discussion about helicopter operations in the county. The public is invited to share their thoughts and questions regarding helicopters over residential areas and discuss possible solutions to concerns. Members of the community are encouraged to join the discussion via Zoom.
