Los Alamos County does not provide services or manage housing directly. Los Alamos Commerce and Development Corporation maintains a spreadsheet on affordable and market rate rentals compiled by local area agencies and various property owners and managers. This list is subject to change without notice, and vacancies cannot be guaranteed.

Be cautious of rental scams

Remain extra vigilant whether you are renting out a property or looking for a place to stay. Recently, there have been reports of scams in which individuals attempt to collect money for properties listed on websites like rentals.com or apartments.com without proper authorization.

Protect yourself:

  • Verify Ownership: Confirm the property owner’s identity through public records or trusted sources.
  • Subletting Permission: If someone claims to be subletting, ask if they have written permission from the property owner or landlord.

Taking these initial steps can help prevent falling victim to fraudulent listings. Stay cautious and informed!
