Administrative Services Department Comprises six divisions: Finance, Payroll, Budget, Procurement, Information Management, and Records Management.
Assessor's Office We provide property services to residents and commercial agencies such as tax assessments, notice of valuation, tax calculations & collections, property search and management applications. We also provide reports to NM State agencies.
Community Development Department The Community Development Dept. comprises five divisions: Planning, Building Safety, Economic Development, Housing and Special Projects, and Administration, with each contributing to the Department's mission to ensure well-planned development and high-quality construction practices to promote economic vitality and achieve the highest possible quality of life for the residents of Los Alamos.
Community Services Department The Community Services Department comprises Centralized Services, Parks, Recreation, Library, Open Spaces and Trails, Cultural, and Social Services.
County Attorney We provide the legal advice to Council, the County Manager, County Departments, and boards and commissions. We represent the County in all legal proceedings. We cannot offer legal opinions to private individuals or to private parties in civil matters.
County Clerk The Clerk’s Office is responsible for maintaining voter registration records and conducting fair, transparent, and accurate elections. The office also issues marriage licenses, records real estate documents, and other official public records.
Department of Public Utilities (DPU) The Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is a public utility! That means DPU focuses on service and community involvement rather than profits. DPU provides electric, gas, water and sewer services for Los Alamos County residents and businesses, and provides wholesale electric and water services to the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Fire Department Los Alamos Fire Department is one of the largest career fire departments in the State of New Mexico. We provide fire suppression, emergency medical services, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, aviation rescue, fire prevention, fire investigation, code enforcement, public education, and domestic preparedness planning and response.
Municipal Court The Court is an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to attain justice for the individual and society through the rule of law. The Municipal Court handles traffic, DWI, animal control, and other Municipal Code violations.

Probate Court The Probate Court appoints legally qualified persons, called Personal Representatives, to manage and settle the decedent's business affairs.
Public Works Department Public Works divisions include Airport, Custodial, Engineering, Environmental Services, Capital Projects and Facilities, Fleet, Traffic and Streets as well as Atomic City Transit.
