Welcome to the Los Alamos County Housing Division.

The Housing Division is dedicated to developing and implementing programs that maintain and expand both affordable and market-rate housing opportunities for all income segments of the Los Alamos community.

Strategic Development & Partnerships. We provide proactive policy direction and project assistance to increase our local supply of affordable, workforce, and market-rate housing. To meet the diverse needs of our community, the division actively solicits public-private partnerships to develop new housing opportunities on County-owned land.

Housing & Social Services Support. The County’s Social Services Division provides residents of all ages with access to vital food and housing assistance, health insurance navigation, and dedicated support for unhoused individuals. Additionally, the County collaborates with the Santa Fe Civic Housing Authority (SFCHA) – Española Office to offer Section 8 assistance; please note that the SFCHA waiting list is currently closed to new applications and carries an estimated two-year wait time. For up-to-date program schedules, hours, and contact details, please visit the Healthcare, Financial, Housing, Food and Legal Resources web page.
