Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.

View the adopted building permit fees under Chapter 10, Article III, Division 2, Section 10-111 of the Los Alamos County Code of Ordinances.
Note that in accordance with the Los Alamos County Code, no building or structure regulated by this Code shall be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted, or demolished unless a separate permit for each building or structure has been obtained first from the CDD Building Safety Division. Most building permit applications will require a recent survey of the lot or site showing the location of all the utilities. All building permit plans must meet the 2015 International Building Code and the Incorporated County of Los Alamos Code.
