The Climate Action Plan was developed by the community as the roadmap for what a successful, sustainable future looks like and what steps we'll take to get the entire community there.

Climate Action Plan and Greenhouse Gas Inventory

Los Alamos County’s Climate Action Plan, adopted by the County Council, supports the Council’s strategic goal of Environmental Stewardship and helps guide community efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Los Alamos Resiliency, Energy and Sustainability (LARES)

The Los Alamos Resiliency, Energy & Sustainability Task Force (a citizen task force in 2021) recommended greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction and climate change resiliency measures for Los Alamos County. View their final report report presented to the County Council.

Sustainability Performance Indicators

We track sustainability metrics as part of the County Council–adopted Climate Action Plan, which guides local efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening community resilience. The plan is organized into six focus areas to achieve the climate and sustainability goals.
