Community members are invited to participate in a series of small-group guided walk-abouts exploring Los Alamos neighborhoods and trails while discussing topics related to local history and historic preservation.

  • Wednesday, May 27 | 12 to 1 p.m. — The War Effort in Los Alamos: Manhattan Project and Beyond
  • Wednesday, May 27 | 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. — Creating a Company Town: Housing and Community Amenities in the Postwar Era
  • Thursday, May 28 | 12 to 1 p.m. — Foundations of the Plateau: Homesteading and the Los Alamos Ranch School
  • Friday, May 29 | 12 to 1 p.m. — Ancestral Footsteps: Indigenous History and the Pajarito Plateau

Registration is encouraged for all walk-about events.

This series of events are part of the Los Alamos Historic Preservation Plan engagement series, inviting community members to explore and share input on the history, architecture, and preservation of Los Alamos County.It is free and open to the public.
