Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. The Los Alamos County Council voted at their first meeting on January 7, 2025, to resume holding Council Work Sessions at the White Rock Fire Station #3 (129 NM-4, White Rock). for the 2025 calendar year. This includes the January 14 Work Session, which was incorrectly noted as being held in Los Alamos in previous press releases.
Council Work Sessions are open to the public and a Zoom option is available for those who cannot attend in person. View the January 14 published agenda packet and use the eComment tool to leave public comments from the convenience of your home before noon on the day of the meeting.
