Abiquiu penstock

The Abiquiu Hydroelectric Dam has been in operation for nearly 40 years. The 36” air relief valve, which acts as both an air release valve and air inlet/vacuum relief valve for the penstock, is located above ground in a small room that is exposed to the elements. This valve is leaking and must be replaced. This is a critical element in the watering and de-watering of the penstock.
