37th Street & Pinon Park Project: ADA Update and Renovations These playgrounds were identified as needing improvements to meet American with Disabilities Act accessibility requirements and as needing improvements based on the CSD Integrated Master Plan. The renovation will improve safety, access, and update amenities.
Artificial Turf Study CSD has hired NV5 to assess the benefits of artificial turf for high school baseball and softball fields at North Mesa Sports Complex and Overlook Park. This conversion is part of the CSD Integrated Master Plan's short-term projects. Artificial turf provides advantages over natural grass, such as year-round playability in various weather conditions, reduced maintenance needs, and consistent play.
Athletic Field Renovation-Phase II-3 Year Contract Los Alamos County awarded IFB 25-18 to Rio Grande Landscapes, LLC to renovate the playing surface of eleven fields over the next three years. Grand Canyon and San Ildefonso (Dinosaur Park) Playground Designs The purpose of this project is to design, develop construction documents, and provide construction administration services for the renovation of San Ildefonso and Grand Canyon Playgrounds. The overall renovations will include ADA/Safety improvements, new play structures, shade, and supporting amenities, with a focus on unstructured play, accessibility, and community engagement.
Guaje Pines Cemetery Master Plan Project The Los Alamos County has partnered with Sloane Consulting Group to create a comprehensive Master Plan for Guaje Pines Cemetery.This plan will serve as a long-term guide for the care, maintenance, and future development of the cemetery. The goal of this plan is to ensure that Guaje Pines continues to be a respectful, peaceful, and meaningful place for remembrance for years to come.

Picnic Grounds at North Mesa The picnic grounds on North Mesa has outdated amenities and has been identified in both the CSD Integrated Master Plan and the ADA Audit Transition Plan as an area in need of maintenance, updates and ADA Federal statute compliance. This Picnic Area Renovation Plan will ensure the area is accessible to everyone and will update shelters, restrooms and all park amenities.
Urban Park Athletic Court Project This project will renovate and improve the athletic courts (tennis, basketball, wall ball and sand volleyball) at Urban Park to meet ADA accessibility standards and enhance overall safety, usability, and community value. The scope includes design of accessible features, updated amenities, and site improvements aligned with the 2023 CSD Integrated Master Plan & the ADA Transition Plan.
