Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Los Alamos County will host a hybrid Q&A session to discuss Metropolitan Redevelopment Areas (MRAs) in Los Alamos and White Rock and what they could mean for the community. County staff will explain how MRAs are designated districts where public and private investment can be focused to revitalize underutilized or blighted areas. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about funding mechanisms and how redevelopment projects could support housing, local businesses, and public spaces.
