Our office strives to efficiently and effectively develop, monitor, and communicate on operating and capital plan that manages resources responsive to the needs of all stakeholders. View the adopted county budgets, popular annual financial reports and annual comprehensive financial reports.  

On March 31, 2026, Los Alamos County published the proposed FY2027 budget with expenditures of $349.3 million as compared to FY2026 adopted expenditures of $367.9 million. Popular Annual Financial Reports

The Popular Annual Financial Reports (PAFR) is a summary of our financial activities that are reported in detail under the Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR). Our goal is to ensure that you are kept informed on the state of our finances and discover more about our county government operations.

Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports

Our financial statements and supporting schedules are documented in detail in the following Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for governments. They also adhere to requirements from the State of New Mexico, Office of the State Auditor, and the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) for Los Alamos County. Also included is the opinion of the county's independent auditors and a statistical section with ten years of summary data.

Please be advised that the naming convention officially changed from the former title of Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) to Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board for fiscal years beginning June 30, 2021, and subsequent years.
