Jenn Donley Photography

Milky Way over Overlook Park

Hello, I am Jenn Donley, a landscape photographer based in Los  Alamos.  I have always loved both photography and nature. Originally from Pennsylvania, I fell in love with the Southwest when my Dad brought me along on a work trip to New Mexico when I was 8 years old. We even visited Los Alamos. Little did I know that would become home 25 years later!

During college, I spent a summer working at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory which operates the Very Large Array (VLA) outside Socorro, NM.   Each weekend my fellow students and I traveled somewhere new in New Mexico, and I was hooked.  After college, I moved to Tucson, Arizona, where I earned a PhD in astronomy and continued to visit Los Alamos from time to time.

After a brief stint back east, my husband and I moved to Los Alamos to start jobs as scientists at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.  I got serious about photography after my oldest child was born, and have recently devoted more time towards getting back into landscape photography as well as learning Milky Way and nightscape photography. I will never cease to be amazed by the beauty of the high deserts and mesas of northern New Mexico as well as our stunning skies, and I strive to capture as much of that beauty as I can with my Sony mirrorless DSLR.
