Traffic and Streets Division

The Traffic and Streets Division is responsible for managing daily traffic operations and maintaining critical roadway infrastructure throughout the County. This includes the upkeep, repair, and replacement of 12 traffic signals, 21 school flashers, 1,612 streetlights, and more than 1,500 street and regulatory signs, as well as maintaining road striping and pavement markings.

Through Pavement Preservation efforts, the Division maintains 111 centerline miles of paved roads, 96 miles of sidewalks, and performs essential services such as pothole patching, curb and gutter repairs, street sweeping, vegetation control, and snow removal ensuring safe and efficient travel for all residents.

Neighborhood Traffic Management Program

This Division also performs professional traffic engineering services including traffic impact studies, traffic counts, speed studies, pedestrian walkability, bicycle accessibility, and various other traffic engineering studies and reports. This Division also provides interdepartmental support within the County and manages the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program(PDF, 102KB) , a program designed to help residents address neighborhood traffic problems, such as speeding.
