The County has partnered with FBT Architects to improve the Bayo Canyon Trailhead for all users, creating a safer, more accessible space that reflects community priorities and values. This project includes designing the space and overseeing construction of the Bayo Canyon Trailhead.

A community listening session was held on Wednesday, February 11, where about 20 residents shared insightful feedback and ideas. Now, we are asking the community to be part of this trailhead process! First, watch the video so you can understand what is happening in your backyard. Second, visit the Community Services Department project page to get caught up on the previous discussions. Third, participate in one of the Call-to-Action initiatives.

The Bayo Canyon Trailhead listening session highlighted critical issues around safety, parking, winter recreation, equestrian access, ADA compliance, and environmental preservation.

Now that these critical issues have been identified, we need YOU to help us prioritize and refine the direction of the project!

Your voice matters in determining how we balance safety, accessibility, and community values. Here’s what you can do today:

1. Complete the Community Survey: Share your priorities for parking, trail connectivity, and amenities.
2. Attend Upcoming Design Workshops: Three conceptual designs will be presented in early spring. Be part of the discussion and help refine the options. The first workshop is March 24 at 5:30-7 pm at Fuller Lodge.
3. Spread the Word: Encourage friends, neighbors, and fellow trail users to participate. The more input we gather, the better the outcome for everyone.
4. Stay Informed: Follow project updates on this page and social media. Look for announcements about public meetings and feedback opportunities.
