What is a Comprehensive Plan?

A comprehensive plan is a long range policy document that guides how a community grows and develops over time. For Los Alamos County, the Comprehensive Plan helps shape decisions about land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, economic development, and environmental stewardship while reflecting the community’s shared vision for the future.
