Los Alamos, New Mexico—Los Alamos County is pleased to announce Max Khudiakov as Economic Development Administrator. He will begin on June 8, 2026. The Administrator plays a crucial role in driving economic growth, supporting existing businesses while attracting new businesses.
Khudiakov has a wealth of economic development experience and knowledge. He comes from the Town of Red River, New Mexico where he was the Director of Economic Development & Tourism for more than four years and implemented many award-winning programs. In 2025, the Town of Red River earned the International Economic Development Council’s (IEDC) Excellence in Economic Development Gold and Silver Awards for positively impacting rural residents, promotion of their tourism, and small business program development. Khudiakov holds certifications in economic development, destination management, digital marketing, and program management—including the IEDC’s Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation.
“Max joining our team is a huge benefit to the community,” said Community Development Department Head Eli Isaacson. “His expertise nicely fits Los Alamos County’s unique economic opportunities and his approach aligns with the County Council’s economic vitality goals.”
Khudiakov will be working on many major economic development initiatives already underway, including the County’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) programs and the two Metropolitan Redevelopments Areas (MRA) in White Rock and East Downtown Los Alamos. Both these programs aim at supporting local business through encouraging investment, expansion, job creation, and improvements to commercial real estate.
