Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Los Alamos County Traffic and Streets will repair four streetlights along the east side of Diamond Drive near the Medical Center Friday, Jan. 10. Crews will close the north bound right lane beginning at the Omega Bridge and ending at the entrance to the Medical Center at West Road. Traffic will be diverted to the north bound left lane on Diamond Drive. Work hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
