On October 30th, the initial listening session will be hosted from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Fuller Lodge to provide input on the ongoing Artificial Turf Study. This is one of multiple sessions to be scheduled.
The Artificial Turf Study will evaluate the use of artificial turf for baseball, softball and soccer fields. This study will also look at the feasibility of a single location for the baseball and softball artificial field complex. Any ultimate recommendation for field designs and potential alignments will meet New Mexico Activities Association (NMAA), USA Baseball, and USA Softball regulations. In addition to the potential construction estimates, the study will also ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and will outline long-term maintenance costs, necessary equipment, and management strategies for upkeep. The study is expected to be completed by June 2025.
This session offers the public an opportunity to share feedback and learn more about the study being conducted by NV5, a leading engineering and consulting firm. These sessions ensure that the needs and concerns of Los Alamos residents are considered.
