Celebrate National Library week
Published on April 21, 2026
What brings you joy? Whether it’s diving into a new book, learning a skill, connecting with neighbors, or discovering something unexpected, Los Alamos Public Library invites the community to find their joy during National Library Week, April 19–25, 2026.
National Library Week celebrates the vital role libraries play in bringing people together, sparking imagination and supporting lifelong learning. From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programs, libraries remain essential to building strong, thriving communities.
Mesa Public Library and the White Rock Branch encourage residents to join in the celebration. Whether you’re a longtime patron, a new resident or returning after time away, now is the perfect moment to explore all your library has to offer. The library provides access to extensive print and digital collections, educational and recreational programs, and knowledgeable staff dedicated to helping every visitor succeed. Above all, the library is committed to ensuring equitable access to resources that educate, inspire and connect.
“Libraries are for everyone, and that’s what makes them joyful places,” said Gwen Kalavaza, Library Manager. “No matter where you are in life or what you’re curious about, the library is here to help you explore, learn and feel connected to your community.”
First celebrated in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored each April by the American Library Association and libraries across the country.
