Los Alamos County is pleased to announce its public website has successfully transitioned to a .GOV domain. The County’s web address has officially changed from losalamosnm.us to losalamosnm.gov, marking an important step toward strengthening cybersecurity and reinforcing public confidence in County communications.
The move to a .GOV domain is part of a nationwide effort to ensure that government websites are easily identifiable, secure, and trustworthy. The .GOV domain is restricted to verified government entities and offer enhanced protections against phishing, spoofing, and other online threats.
While the previous website address will continue to function for the foreseeable future, residents, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to update their bookmarks and saved links to the new address: losalamosnm.gov. Desktop users may also need to clear their browser cache to ensure the updated site loads correctly and consistently.
County staff will continue to closely monitor the website following the transition to identify and resolve any broken links or technical issues to provide a seamless and reliable online experience for all users. Members of the public who encounter issues or have questions about the transition are encouraged to contact the Communications and Public Relations Office at 505-663-1726.
