Los Alamos County Enters Stage 1 Fire Restrictions April 28, 2026

Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Townsite Power Outage

The Townsite of Los Alamos County is currently experiencing a power outage. As of 9:40 p.m., standby crews were called and dispatched to determine the extent of the outage. There are reports of a possible transformer blowing in the area of Trinity and Timber Ridge. Crews will be heading there first. Updates will be provided via the County website and social media channels.
