Camp May Campground

Temporary Closure

The campground is closed Monday through Thursday.
Open Friday, 12 noon - Sunday, 12 noon.
No Reservations during 2026, due to construction.

Located near the Pajarito Ski Mountain area, Camp May offers picnic areas and an amphitheater. Additional information about Camp May can be found in this brochure(PDF, 338KB). It is located approximately 6 miles west (20-minute drive) of the Los Alamos town site. Camp May is closed and the road is blocked from November – March. Electricity is not available at this Pavilion. This facility requires special approval by the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Staff.

Availability: April/May - October (as weather permits)

  • Contains 10 Overnight Camping Sites - During 2026, Camp  May is open Friday, 12 noon - Sunday, 12 noon, the campground is closed Monday through Thursday.
