Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. The Los Alamos Aquatic Center will be closed to the public on Saturday, February 1, 2025, to host the Los Alamos Aquatomics (LAA) Swim Meet. The closure will impact all public swimming activities, including access to the Main Pool, Therapy Pool, and Leisure Lagoon.
While the facility will not be available for public use or swimming on this day, spectators are welcome to attend the event. The Aquatic Center will resume its regular operating hours on Monday, February 3, 2025.
