Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.

The Trinity Drive safety and ADA improvements project that is taking place between Oppenheimer Drive and 15th Street is starting up July 6, 2026. To follow the start-up process and stay informed throughout the project, we are coordinating several public meetings.
This project went before the Board of Public Utilities and the County Council in May to receive final approval of the bid.
We will coordinate three public meetings to share the project timeline and provide status updates. These meetings are slated to be held in the County Council Chambers in the Municipal Building.
