Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.

Los Alamos County’s Eco Station, located at 3701 E. Jemez Road, is currently experiencing a temporary outage of phone and internet services. Staff are working with service providers to restore connectivity as soon as possible.
According to the Environmental Services staff, this outage will not impact services offered at the Eco Station or regularly scheduled refuse collection.
