Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.
The Leisure Lagoon will be open on July 3, 9am to 7pm, Closed July 4.Pinon Pool will be open on July 4 from 10am - 3pm The Leisure Lagoon will be closed on July 10 & 31, 2026, from 12pm - 2pm, for a private event.The Leisure Lagoon will be CLOSED on Saturdays. The Aquatic Center offers diverse activities for citizens and visitors of all ages, income levels, fitness levels, and interests in safe and affordable recreation, instruction, fitness, competitive, and therapeutic programs. The Aquatic Center is known internationally as an excellent training facility for teams from around the United States and the world, including Japan, Belgium, New Zealand, Germany, and many more. Locally, the Center supports private swim teams and the Los Alamos High School Swimming and Diving Team.
No lap swimming in the Leisure Lagoon.
Please see the pool schedules below. Recreational swimming in the shallow end of the main pool is scheduled during session times.
Entries will not be allowed into the building until 5 minutes before the session. Check in anytime during session times; however, all guests must exit at the end of the scheduled session.
Groups of 30 individuals or more need to contact the Aquatic Center Cordinator Faith Lopez, two (2) weeks in advance to make prior arrangements and ensure availability.

Scheduled Opening Date: Saturday, May, 23, 2026! Piñon Park Pool will operate 7:00am – 7:00pm Monday through Friday, and 9:00am – 5:00pm on Saturdays.

Session holders will be allowed entry into building 10 minutes prior to session. Check-in allowed during session times, however all guests must exit the pool at the end of the scheduled session and exit locker rooms within 15 minutes. Staff will clear all areas. If patrons would like to swim in the next session, please exit the building and repay for re-entry.
