Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Los Alamos Police Department invites you to run in the 2026 Torch Run! May 28 |7:00 a.m. at Los Alamos Police Department. Run starts 7:30 a.m. sharp Finish at Buffalo Thunder | Torch handoff at 11:00 a.m. $25 Torch Run T-shirts required for runners (proceeds benefit Special Olympics NM). Shirts available, contact Det.
