Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Come join the Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division. They are seeking feedback from the community as the planning process begins to update and consolidate the current open space and trails management plans. Your input will assist Parks in understanding key community issues, priorities, and goals related to trails and open space in Los Alamos County. One listening session was held on May 21st in person. The second session is scheduled remotely (via Zoom) for Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
The Division hopes to streamline and consolidate the plans to manage county resources more efficiently and better serve the community’s needs. For more information on the planning process, please visit the project page.
