Los Alamos County, in collaboration with czb, is conducting the 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update to establish the County’s long range policy and planning framework. The updated plan, based off of the 2016 Comprehensive Plan, will guide future decisions related to land use, housing, redevelopment and infill, infrastructure, transportation, economic development, and environmental stewardship while incorporating input from residents, businesses, and community stakeholders.

Community Engagement
Open houses were scheduled for March 11 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the County Council Chambers at the County Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos, and March 12 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the White Rock Library, 10 Sherwood Blvd., White Rock. The same information and materials was be presented at both sessions.
A second set of open houses were scheduled for June 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the County Council Chambers at the County Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos, and June 18 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the White Rock Library, 10 Sherwood Blvd., White Rock,. The same information and materials was be presented at both sessions.
The draft Comprehensive Plan public engagement period opened on August 19, giving community members an opportunity to review the draft and provide feedback.
Residents are also invited to attend two in-person public engagement sessions that day: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at White Rock Fire Station #3, located at 129 NM 4 in White Rock, and from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Los Alamos Golf Course, located at 4244 Diamond Dr. in Los Alamos. The same information and materials will be presented at both sessions.
