Los Alamos County is inviting community members to participate in a series of upcoming engagement events for the Los Alamos Historic Preservation Plan focused on the community’s history, architecture, and preservation efforts.

Upcoming events include:

  • Historic Walk-Abouts | May 27–29: Small-group guided walks will explore topics including the Manhattan Project, post-war housing, Indigenous history, homesteading, and the Los Alamos Ranch School.
  • Indigenous Design Principles Virtual Lecture | Thursday, June 4: Award-winning architect Tamarah Begay will explore how Indigenous design practices can help shape preservation and future development efforts.

Community members are also encouraged to participate in the Los Alamos Historic Preservation Plan questionnaire until June 14, 2026, to share feedback and ideas that will help guide the project. The questionnaire, project information, and event registration can be found at lacnm.com/HistoricPlan.

All events are free and open to the public, though registration is encouraged.
