NM-4 road rehabilitation work through White Rock

White Rock, New Mexico—Travelers in the White Rock area may experience traffic delays as a roadway rehabilitation project on NM-4 is scheduled to begin on Friday, May 29.

The project will be conducted in two phases. Phase one will span from milepost 64 (Rover Boulevard) to milepost 66.7 (East Jemez Road) and is expected to take 2 days to complete, weather permitting. Phase two will span from milepost 62.2 (Monte Rey Drive South) to milepost 49.5 (West Jemez Road) and will begin immediately after Phase one is completed and is expected to take 3 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Both phases will include the milling and repaving of the existing roadway surface. This structural pavement treatment involves removing the current asphalt layer and replacing it with new pavement to improve road conditions and extend roadway life.

Construction will take place Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. During construction, one lane will be closed, and a pilot car will be on hand to guide motorists through the construction zone. Motorists are strongly encouraged to wait for the pilot car to pass them in the direction they want to travel before attempting to enter the construction zone.

Motorists should expect delays and are urged to plan travel accordingly. Drivers are reminded to exercise caution in the work zone, follow all posted signs and detours, reduce speed, and stay alert for construction personnel and equipment.
