Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Los Alamos County Parks and Open Space Division has announced that the Piñon Splash Pad, located at 10 Sherwood Blvd. in White Rock, will open for the season at 10:00am on Friday, May 23. The Splash Pad will be operational daily from 10:00am to 7:00pm. and is scheduled to remain open through Labor Day weekend, September 1, 2025.
Adult supervision is recommended, as the Splash Pad is an unsupervised facility. Athletic or similar equipment is not allowed, and animals are prohibited. For safety and maintenance reasons, visitors are asked not to climb on the water features.
