Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Los Alamos County will host an open house to be held on Monday, March 17, in the Municipal Building, council Chambers (1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos) to learn about capital improvement projects (CIP) under development and recently completed, along with other active projects in the community. Residents are encouraged to drop in between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. and engage with County staff at either of the following events.
