Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.
Los Alamos County’s Sustainability Division invites residents, business owners and other interested parties to participate in a workshop to provide input on the development of a plan for electrifying the County fleet and expanding community-wide electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The workshop will be held Monday, May 12, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at 1000 Central Ave., Los Alamos. Participants may attend in person or join virtually via Zoom using passcode 971816.
The County’s consultants, Consensus Planning and Stantec, will facilitate the event and present project details during two scheduled presentations: one at 4 p.m. and another at 5:30 p.m. Attendees are welcome to drop in at any time during the workshop.
For information on the project visit the County project page: Fleet Conversion Plan and Community-Wide EV Charging Plan.
