Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. The honor of your presence is requested at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the White Rock Water Resource Reclamation Facility on November 6, 2024 at 10 a.m.
The public is invited to join the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities in the celebration of this long-anticipated capital improvement project. The Water Resource Reclamation Facility (WRRF) is replacing the existing White Rock Wastewater Treatment Plant from 1966, which has reached its end of service. The WRRF will produce Class 1A effluent, the highest quality designation. This project has been in the works since 2016 and was made possible through funding through the Clean Water State Revolving Loan under the New Mexico Environment Department Construction Programs Bureau in an effort to minimize rate increases for customers.
Please park at the Overlook Playground parking lot and cross the street to the entry of the WRRF. The ribbon cutting will be at 10 a.m. followed by statements from James C. Kenney, Secretary of New Mexico Environment Department, and Los Alamos DPU Staff. Light refreshments and a tour of the new facility will be available to guests.
Parking in playground lot across from plant entrance. Ribbon cutting will take place at entrance.
