Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.
The Los Alamos Community Services Parks and Open Space Division is seeking feedback for the planning process to consolidate current open space and trails management plans.

An in-person, interactive engagement session will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at Fuller Lodge (2132 Central Ave., Los Alamos) at 5 p.m.to help Parks understand key community issues, priorities, and goals related to trails and open space in Los Alamos County. Light refreshments will be provided.
