Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. The Los Alamos County Records and Information Management (RIM) office will be temporarily closed for repairs to the floor December 17-20. While the office at 1000 Central Ave., Suite 190 in the Municipal Building, is closed to the public, RIM staff continue to work remotely and are available by phone and email. Records Manager Barbara Ricci confirmed that her team will continue processing records requests in accordance with the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA). Requests can be submitted online at https://lacnm.com/IPRA or by email at inspect-records@lacnm.us. However, physical records stored within Suite 190 will be unavailable until the repairs are completed. The office is scheduled to reopen on Monday, Dec. 23.
