Los Alamos seeks your input in 2026 community survey
Published on August 24, 2026
Los Alamos, New Mexico—Los Alamos County has partnered with Polco to conduct the 2026 National Community Survey (NCS) on government services and the quality of life in the community. This information will be used in the County Council’s upcoming strategic planning meeting in November. The survey allows more people to participate in the shaping of the future of Los Alamos County.
“We are excited to receive as much input from County residents as we can to get a solid indication of how we’ve been doing with recent work on the Council’s strategic priorities to improve this wonderful community,” said County Manager Anne Laurent. “The survey also gives us guidance on the priorities to focus on moving forward.”
The NCS was developed by the National Research Center at Polco. This statistically significant survey captures opinions on the economy, mobility, community design, utilities, safety, natural environment, inclusivity, engagement, and other elements of Los Alamos’s overall livability. The results will show Los Alamos’s strengths, areas of improvement, and what matters most to residents. The survey also shows how our County performs compared to other communities across the country.
Randomly selected households will receive mailed survey invitations over the next couple of weeks. Households that receive an invitation are asked to follow the enclosed instructions and complete the survey. All residents will have the opportunity to share their input in a few weeks, once the survey becomes available to the entire community.
“I strongly encourage everyone who receives a survey to fill it out. The more people who participate, the better data we’ll have to inform our plan. This is a great way for everyone in Los Alamos County to share their thoughts and shape the County’s future.” said County Manager Anne Laurent.
