NMGC to perform venting operation this morning

New Mexico Gas Company (NMGC) will be performing a maintenance venting of odorized natural gas this morning, Tuesday, July 14. People located around the NMGC operation across from Camino Entrada might smell “natural gas” during this venting.

The Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities was notified this morning that NMGC will be venting odorized natural gas. The Customer Care Center contacted businesses in the area that have provided contact information in connection with their utility accounts. Los Alamos Police Dispatch has also been notified.

NMGC is conducting a required pipeline integrity testing on the main natural gas transmission line through the end of July or early August. Natural gas is being supplied to the area via a virtual pipeline, visible across from Camino Entrada.
