Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Update as of October 23:
What to expect:
Residents can expect large construction equipment, elevated noise levels, and no street parking during working hours. The contractor will coordinate directly with residents and businesses to minimize disruption. Mail delivery, trash and recycling services, school bus routes, public transit, and emergency vehicle access will not be interrupted.
This maintenance is essential to preserving road quality and extending pavement life in the neighborhood. The County appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation during this temporary inconvenience.
