Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Make a splash this fall at Pumpkin Splash and Carnival, happening Sunday, October 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Los Alamos County Aquatic Center. It’s festive, and it’s all happening in the water.
The festivities begin at 9:00 a.m. with a carnival hosted by the Los Alamos Recreation Department, featuring games and activities for all ages. Then, at 10:00 a.m., children will have the chance to plunge into the water for pumpkins in the Leisure Lagoon, organized by age group to ensure a safe and exciting experience.
Admission is $7 per person per pumpkin when purchased in advance or $9 per person per pumpkin on the day of the event. Space is limited to 150 participants, and tickets go on sale starting October 1. Early registration is highly encouraged! Participants are welcome to swim before and after the Pumpkin Splash, with open swim continuing until the event concludes at 11:30 a.m..
Please note: all other pools at the Aquatic Center will be closed during the event to keep the focus on the fun in the Leisure Lagoon
