Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.

Starting November 4, 2024, the Los Alamos Golf Course will adjust its operating hours for the winter season. The golf course and golf shop will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. From Wednesday through Sunday, the golf shop will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with all rentals required to be returned by 4:30 p.m.
These changes will remain in effect until December 8, 2024, subject to course and weather conditions. Golfers should stay updated on any changes by visiting the Los Alamos County website or contacting the golf course directly.
