Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has enacted fire restrictions to Stage 1, effective April 28, within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts. Following two communication outages in the month of March, Los Alamos County invites the public to attend a virtual town hall presentation by Dept. of Public Utilities, Broadband, and Emergency Management staff to discuss the outages, the Community Broadband Network Project, and the importance of emergency preparedness at home. Attend the Communications Outage Virtual Town Hall presentation via Zoom this Wednesday, April 9, at 5:30 p.m. There will be short presentations from staff and then questions from the public will be addressed.
