September 24, 2026: The Los Alamos County Justice Center continues to experience issues from a power outage that began on September 23. The outage is preventing access to in-person court services at this time. Court staff will provide services remotely to the extent possible until Monday, September 28.
Los Alamos County is beginning Phase I of upgrades at Guaje Pines Cemetery, the County’s only public cemetery.
The project will expand options for cremation interment and improve accessibility and amenities while supporting the long-term needs of the community.

The project is guided by the Guaje Pines Cemetery Master Plan, approved by County Council in 2025.
Guaje Pines Cemetery is nearing capacity for some burial and cremation options. These improvements will help ensure the cemetery remains a dignified, accessible, and sustainable community resource for years to come.
The project is currently in the design phase. Design work will progress through several stages, with final construction documents anticipated by December 31, 2026.
Community input will be an important part of the design process. The County will provide opportunities for residents to learn about the project, attend public meetings, and share feedback as the design moves forward.
