NM-4 is now closed at the main entrance of Valles Caldera National Preserve due to active firefighting activities on the McCauley Springs Fire.
Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.
This project was successfully completed and is no longer active.
Los Alamos County awarded IFB/24-36 to LA Landscaping and More for renovation of three (3) athletic fields; Dara Jones, Hope Field and Bomber Field. These are natural grass fields that are used for softball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, rugby and other field sports. The fields have reached an age where the need to grade and recondition the dirt areas, re-turf and adjust the irrigation to extend the life of the fields and provide a safe sporting environment.
