Smoke from the Frijoles Fire in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and fires as far away as the Pacific Northwest are being blown into the County, lowering air quality. Reduce outdoor activity if sensitive.
This project includes the removal and replacement of deteriorated sidewalks and curbs and gutter as well as the installation of new ADA compliant ramps along both the west and east sides of 9th Street from Myrtle to Iris Street . To minimize disruption to residents, the work is being completed in two separate phases. Work on the west side began on February 23, 2026 and was completed on March 20, 2026. Construction on the east side began on March 26, 2026 and is scheduled for completion on April 20, 2026.
