September 24, 2026: The Los Alamos County Justice Center continues to experience issues from a power outage that began on September 23. The outage is preventing access to in-person court services at this time. Court staff will provide services remotely to the extent possible until Monday, September 28.

The Los Alamos Police Department remains unwavering in its commitment to locating Anthony Chavez and bringing answers to his family and friends. Our officers actively follow every lead, review evidence, and coordinate with multiple agencies and local businesses to find Mr. Chavez.
“We understand the concern and urgency surrounding this case, and we deeply appreciate the support and cooperation from the community,” said Deputy Chief James Rodriguez. “Information from the public is invaluable, and we urge anyone who may have seen or heard anything relevant to come forward immediately.”
Officers have conducted thorough searches of known residences, hiked local trails, distributed flyers to businesses, reviewed hours of surveillance footage, and diligently followed up on every tip received. We remain fully committed to utilizing all available resources to locate Mr. Chavez and will continue to work with his family during this difficult time.
