Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.

The Planning and Zoning Commission is established to advise County Council regarding planning and zoning for the County pursuant to NMSA 1978, § 4-57-1 and for promoting the general welfare of the citizens of the County per Chapter 8, Article IX Los Alamos County Municipal code. Their role includes the coordinated, comprehensive, orderly, and harmonious physical development of the County in both short and long term.
This meeting is in person and open to the public. Members of the public are encouraged to attend and provide public comment.
