Due to ongoing dry conditions and prevailing high winds, Fire Marshal Colorado Cordova of the Los Alamos Fire Department (LAFD) has elevated fire restrictions to Stage 2, effective May 28, 2026 within the boundaries of Los Alamos County to safeguard public health and safety, as well as protect lands, structures, natural and historical artifacts.
As part of the community engagement process, the County invites residents to take part in a Public Meeting to share feedback and ideas directly with the project team. The Sloane Consulting team will be sharing initial design concepts for public input. This meeting is an opportunity for community members to help shape the future of Guaje Pines Cemetery and discuss key topics such as burial space needs, evolving end-of-life options, and the cemetery’s connection to nearby parks and trails.
